The Ark of the Covenant was the great symbol of the active presence of God with His people. The Ark was the visible point of contact where the invisible God of the universe touched down to planet Earth. Time and distance do not diminish the promises of God. God's words to David are still true today. The Lord loves His chosen people, and He promises to be with us as He was with David. On No Falling Word, Liam Goligher centers our thoughts on Zion and its shepherd King.

Sometimes our goals and aspirations are 'a long time coming.' This was certainly true about David's journey to his long-promised throne. Liam Goligher begins at the high-water mark of David's career and offers a helicopter view of David's reign over Israel.

Shortcuts are tempting to us all. Naturally, we want to get where we're  going and achieve our goals as fast as possible, but shortcuts often fail to follow the right paths. Liam Goligher explains how David resisted the shortcuts - winning the kingdom in God's way and in God's time.

Is God only interested in the bold and the strong, the movers and shakers and the type A personalities? What about the small people, the marginalized, and the so called 'walk-ons' in life? Liam Goligher points out a champion for the weak - a champion who regards the humble and rules with justice.

Before David assumed the throne, the kingdom was brimming with greed, war games, murder, power plays, and all manner of nefarious acts. Despite it all, God's purpose for His Kingdom could not be stopped. Liam Goligher concludes Israel’s 'civil war' story.

Ultimately there is only one King, and He is God Himself. All the other “little people” who occupy offices, do so by His permission. Abner, commander of Saul’s army, was one of these so-called “little people.” Next time on No Falling Word, Liam Goligher discusses Abner - a power broker dealing in false strength.

How does one become 'more human'? Or find real joy that lasts forever? Next time on No Falling Word, Liam Goligher uses two royal invitations, one from the earthly kingdom of David, and another from the heavenly kingdom of Jesus, to help us understand what we were made for!

David was a forerunner of Christ, and the great hallmark of both their lives was obedience to the will of God. Next time on No Falling Word, Liam Goligher helps us make connections between the colossal stories of David and Jesus, and the 'little stories' of our own lives today.

Grief is a powerful emotion; sometimes it lasts for a lifetime. We often need our poets and songwriters to help us put words and structure to our grief. Next time on No Falling Word, Liam Goligher draws structured sorrow from a lament, written by King David, for the mighty that have fallen.
