Prison, hardship and the unknown awaited Paul in Jerusalem.  But like Jesus, who made the same journey despite the suffering that awaited him, Paul did not use his friends’ warnings as an excuse not to go.  What can we learn from Paul about discerning God’s will when we may pay a high price for following it?

Just as sheep need a shepherd to protect them from the wolves that would decimate the flock, the church needs shepherds—wise men who can discern a true Christian from an imposter and distinguish truth from false doctrine.  This week on No Falling Word with Liam Goligher we are continuing our study of chapter 20 of the Book of Acts and see Paul’s on-going concern for the future of the early church.

Paul may have considered himself to be “the least of the apostles”, but he was instrumental in establishing the church and he knew the trials the church would be facing.  This week on No Falling Word, Liam Goligher begins a two-part message on leadership in the early church from Acts chapter 20, looking at the role of the elders.

If you’ve ever been part of an emotional farewell, you know the feelings that go along with separating from the ones you love.  This week on No Falling Word with Liam Goligher we’ll study chapter 20 of the Book of Acts as Paul addresses the leaders of the church in Ephesus for the final time. The meeting is a transitional point in Paul’s ministry and he’s concerned about the future of the church.

The Book of Acts is not just about us…it’s a book that is for us.  It’s the story of Jesus’ promise to send the Gospel to the far reaches of the world.  Liam Goligher continues to follow Paul’s journeys from the Book of Acts and helps us discover the power and motivation that fueled the apostle to accomplish Jesus’ promise

Commercialism! It’s not necessarily a bad thing--until it crosses paths with Christianity. It overshadows religious holidays and threatens to eclipse the resurrection. Today on No Falling Word with Liam Goligher we examine Acts chapter 19 and see how the tables were turned in the city of Ephesus as the Christian message threatened the commercial interests of the Ephesians.

When is it time to move on?  When we see no fruit--or as God directs? This week on No Falling Word with Liam Goligher, we’re continuing our study of the Book of Acts, chapter 18 where we’ll examine Paul’s thinking as he turned his attention from the Jews of Corinth to the Gentiles.

When we think we are failing we are often only a breath away from achieving our goal.  We’re studying the 18th chapter of the Book of Acts this week on No Falling Word with Liam Goligher.  Paul travels to Corinth, the next pagan city in his missionary journey, where he encounters a new kind of opposition. His response and the results can be an encouragement for us in the work we do for Christ.

The godless Greek culture of Athens in Paul’s time was much like the post-modern culture we live in today.  The priority was pleasure, and God was whoever you imagined Him to be.  Today on No Falling Word with Liam Goligher we will explore how Paul dealt with the citizens of that city and made a convincing argument for his faith.
