Today on No Falling Word, we’ll learn why belonging to God also involves belonging to one another. From the vision of dry bones in the book of Ezekiel to the mandate to love deeply in 1 Peter, Liam Goligher will walk us through what it really means to be a member of God’s covenant family.
The Christian life is a community experience because God designed us to be a family - whether we like it or not! Today on No Falling Word, we’re kicking off a series entitled “Don’t You Just Love the Church?” with a message that will challenge us to give up any plans of ever finding that “perfect church.”
Today on No Falling Word, we’ll learn that everything about our lives that truly matters is secured in one, powerful promise that God made to David thousands of years ago. Listen in to learn about that promise and to find out why it’s only under God’s perfect authority that we can enjoy perfect freedom!
Scripture is clear that even our best efforts could never earn us God’s favor, and on No Falling Word, Dr. Goligher will remind us that apart from Christ’s work, we would all be subject to the wrath of God. Listen in to learn how this theological truth is showcased in the life of David and in the words of an old hymn.
As David nears the end of his life, he offers God a song of praise, full of mixed emotions. We get a glimpse into his heart in 2 Samuel 22, as he reminisces and repents. Today on No Falling Word, Liam identifies the song’s primary theologically theme: the fact that Israel’s story only has one hero.
In 2nd Samuel chapter 21, we find a unique list of names - a sort of honor roll of those who vowed to protect King David. Modern day Christians no longer have a king to protect, but today on No Falling Word, Liam will challenge us to consider whether we are prepared to stand for the gospel at any cost.
Redemption is as much about justice as it is about mercy. We see this principal throughout Scripture, from the foreshadowing of Old Testament law all the way to the cross. Today on No Falling Word, we’ll find David, stuck between a desire for reconciliation and the need to satisfy God’s wrath.
Today on No Falling Word, we’ll take a look at a troubling story concerning a covenant curse and a painful reconciliation. Through David’s example, we’ll learn that breaches to a covenant cannot simply be swept under the carpet. They must be justified before they can be resolved.
The church is a mixed community, united by a solitary truth. On No Falling Word, we’ll discover how our belonging to a covenant people is a reality more powerful than any divisive scheme. Because whether the church is attacked from within or without, the gates of Hell cannot prevail.
